OpSEM is an innovative Screening Efficiency Management system, designed to improve passenger facilitation and screening efficiency at security and custom checkpoints.

OpSEM enables screeners and searchers to work in synchronisation, at any distance. Via OpSEM, the screener can communicate with the searcher, with the utmost precision, about what to focus on while conducting the search.
OpSEM also records and analyses the screening process providing data that can be used to improve screener skills during their training stage, and after receiving the X-ray certification, to monitor, asses and improve their screening performance.

Improves communication and checkpoint effectiveness

OpSEM streamlines the security checkpoint by connecting a screener and a searcher, with no distance limitations, via two touch screen monitors. This means that the searcher knows exactly what the screeners findings are, and to conduct the search, without disrupting the X-ray operator from focusing on the screening process.
This creates a faster and more effective checkpoint throughput, improves passengers service experience and increased commercial income for Airports as passengers have more time to spend post security.

Review mistakes made during the operation as a training tool

All the X-ray images from the operation, along with the actions taken by the screener and searcher are saved on the OpSEM server.
This provides a powerful training aid which enables a team leader or trainer to go through each image with the screeners (both with senior operators and new operators during the OJT processes) to discuss and analyse their decisions and false alarms.
Focused training of this kind is proven to lead to a reduction in the amount of unnecessary searched bags, which will improve passenger satisfaction.

A major component in a classroom checkpoint simulation

As part of the classroom training, several organisations are using X-ray machines and other security equipment in order to simulate a checkpoint operation. Integrating OpSEM in the simulation will significantly increase the training effectiveness.
With OpSEM’s capability to record and save all the X-ray images along with the operator’s decisions, trainees will receive feedback about their X-ray image analysis skills, in real time, on the screened objects.

Settle Disputes with Airlines

Contributes to settle Airline Disputes: Data from OpSEM will reveal why specific airline passengers were delayed at the checkpoint.

Real time alerts when screeners/operation falls below expected standards

OpSEM sends automatic emails/text messages to management regarding screeners that do not comply with the required performance level, such as the minimum demanded operational screening or TIP performance level.
OpSEM can be fully integrated with the OpeReady system. Data from OpSEM is automatically sent to OpeReady and uploaded in the X-ray operator’s personal file.

Licenses for OpSEM Screening Efficiency Management System can be purchased for each checkpoint lane. The more lanes you purchase OpSEM for, the cheaper each license will be.

The OpSEM License includes:

  • Free maintenance for 1 year
  • Full setup and installation

We also offer an optional Checkpoint Design service to assist customers in the
design of their checkpoint area.
